Case Study
Circular Economy National Programme
Need
Modos is an all Ireland initiative to actively promote and empower the Circular Economy into mainly small and micro businesses. The client sought a partner organisation to manage and deliver the national programme (outside Dublin).
Engagement
In collaboration with Change by Degrees, and the Clean Technology Centre, SUSTHUB were successful in winning the tender to deliver the programme. The programme was entirely focused on the circular economy. The circular economy is an economic system that generates value by continuously utilising a stock of resources within the system by recirculating them indefinitely through multiple product life cycles in the absence of waste and environmental pollution.
The 4 modules encompassed- Introduction & Principles, Design Thinking, Supply Chain & Procurement, Resource Efficiency and Engagement. Each module was delivered online over two 3h immersive and interactive sessions. The content and delivery was supported by a 1h Q&A session with the trainers on specific questions related to the different organisations.
Outcome
Participants were primarily drawn from companies with less than 10 employees with most being company owners. All had a passion for developing a circular proposition in the marketplace and being part of the circular movement. The programme enabled participants to interact with some of the key experts across the circular economy in Ireland right across their proposition. Highly valued also, was the opportunity to learn from fellow participants.
Some comments from participants included:
“It was very enjoyable, interactive, plenty of excellent information, informative, very nice group and teachers were effective, and friendly.”
“Very good for any business thinking to adapt to a circular model”
